What is your background?

I have a Ph.D. in electrical engineering and an MS in electrical (telecommunication) engineering from the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) in 2021 and 2014, respectively. Before that, I completed a BSc in telecommunication engineering from the University of Engineering and Technologies (UET), Peshawar, Pakistan, in 2009.

What is your area of interest?

My research interest is to work in cutting-edge technologies in wireless communication and industrial IoT networks. In particular, blockchain and machine learning (ML) applications for wirelss communication at the physical and data link layer levels.

What is it that you are going to investigate as a postdoc?

I will be working on the research profile Next Generation Industrial IoT (NIIT). More specifically, beyond-5G/6G wireless technologies are suitable for industrial applications, especially working with machine learning and blockchain for optimization and time-sensitive network (TSN) integration for 5G and beyond. I will also investigate ML-assisted solutions to the issues related to design and standardisation of open radio access network (O-RAN).

Why did you choose Mid Sweden University?

There are multiple reasons for choosing Mid Sweden University. Firstly, the university has an excellent research environment and focuses more on applied and quality research. Secondly, its location is close to the city center and nature. Thirdly, its beautiful scenery, especially in summer, when greenery and flowers blossom everywhere.

When did you come to Sweden?

I arrived in Sweden in March this year. It was a wonderful experience to witness Sweden's industrial development and the most advanced transportation system. In addition, I have visited the surrounding area of Sundsvall.
