Fire safety
At Mid Sweden University, we all have a responsibility for our common fire protection organization.
Evacuation plans are posted adjacent to our entrances and stairwells, and there you will find information about evacuation routes, placement of the nearest alarm button, extinguishing equipment and assembly points.
In a crisis situation, it is important to know about this and to know and follow the five steps:
Rescue - Save yourself and help others who are in danger
Warn – Warn everyone around you
Raise the alarm – Press the alarm button and call 112, tell them who you are, what has happened and where the fire is.
Extinguish – If it can be done without danger to yourself, try to extinguish the fire. Enclose the fire, close doors and windows to limit the spread and reduce the development of smoke.
Evacuate – Always take the fastest way out, never use an elevator. Head to the nearest assembly point.
Basic fire protection training
Keep in mind that:
Never block escape routes and fire protection equipment. Report to the caretaker's office if you discover that this has happened.
