Mid Sweden University has developed a policy for the management of research data. This policy is based, inter alia, on the European Commission’s recommendation on access to and preservation of scientific information.

Two people are sitting at a long work table. In front of them are several computer screens, a microphone and other technical equipment.

The purpose of the policy is to describe the university’s position, division of responsibilities and support structure regarding the management and making available of research data. The policy is complemented by guidelines.

Mid Sweden University’s ambition is to follow the national direction, which means that the management of research data should as far as possible comply with the FAIR principles. The basis of FAIR is that publicly funded research should be as accessible and useful as possible. Fair stands for research data to be Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable.
